John and James came out to Port Phillip in 1841 on the Georgiana and James is listed as an Overseer of the ship, aged 21. He paid for passage and John was steerage. They came from Enniskillen in Co Fermanagh in Northern Ireland Extra research - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enniskillen - http://www.enniskillen.com/enniskillen.html
They arrived 19 Feb 1841 in Port Phillip, Victoria then went immediately to Gundagai, then Tumut.
Both were single! John is listed on the 1841 census as being alone on "Gouak", District Murrumbidgee. Probably Gonyak as there is at least a dozen spellings for that property. They were settlers, not squatters. Paid 10 pound for the run license.- (Ref- Maree)
