1907 - DEATH OF MR R. S. G. MacDONALLD, - An old resident of this district has passed away in the person of Mr. R. S. G. Macdonald. Mr. Macdonald was the youngest son of the late Captain George MacDonald, of the ancient Scottish family of the MacDonalds of Moira, Inremesahire. Captain George Macdonald, who belonged to the GStn Regiment, served under Wellington in the Peninsula War, and also in Canada. He was afterwards promoted to the rank of Major and brought out a detachment of the 17th Regiment to New South Wales in the early days. Mr. B. S. G. Macdonald was born when the regiment was quartered at Athlone, - Westmeath, Ireland.

In 1873 Mr. Macdonald arrived in Rockhampton and end look up Balnagtrrao Station, between Rockhampton and the coast. Here he lived until about eight years ago, when he came to reside in town. Balnagowan in Mr. Mac donald lands became noted for possessing the best of cattle and horses, a reputation he has strove to maintain for it. Mr. Macoonald is survived by four sons and five daughters, one son and one daughter having predeceased him. He had been ailing for the last twelve months, and his illness gradual|y grew worse until it terminated fatally yesterday week. 1900 -A "Resident on Adjunbilly Creek" (Tumut district) writes:-At the time when the gold dredging movement began, the "Journal" gave due prominence to the opinions of experts and others regarding the damage likely to occur to water courses, etc., as a result of the dredges working in our rivers. It may interest you to learn that the water in this creek (once beautifully clear) is now the color and consistency of pea soup, and stock even turn up their noses at it. The water has been rendered unfit for consumption, and several residents, including myself, have had to sink holes in the sand some distance from the banks to get clear water. - (Ref- Australian Town and Country Journal (NSW : 1870 - 1907)(about) Previous issue Saturday 8 December 1900).

1901 - SUPPOSED MURDER. SYDNEY, March 28. - Sensational news has been received from Adjunbilly, near Gundagai. An Indian hawker, whilst hawking along the Adjunbilly Creek, came across the headless body of a man. The head was lying several yards from the body. It is believed that a case of brutal murder has been discovered.- (Ref- Kalgoorlie Western Argus (WA : 1896 - 1916)(about) Previous issue Tuesday 2 April 1901).

1901 - SUPPOSED MURDER NEAR GUNDAGAI. A HEADLESS BODY FOUND. Gundagai, Thursday. Sensational news has just come to hand from Adjunbilly. An Indian hawker, who keeps a store at Tomorroma, - whilst; hawking along the Adjunbilly. Creek, came across, the- headless body of a middle-aged man. The head was lying several yards from the body. The Indian's attention was attracted to the spot by the scenting of his dog. It is believed that a case of brutal murder has been discovered. The Indian left the body as it was lying, aud reported the matter to the Tumut Police. - The local police are also going out to investigate. - (Ref- Bathurst Free Press and Mining Journal (NSW : 1851 - 1904)(about) Previous issue Friday 29 March 1901).

1902 - TUMUT, TODAY - On Monday - an inquest was held on the Adjunbilly fire, by which a hay shed, 8 tons of hay, a spring cart and harness, a chaffcuttcr, and 8 pigs, the property of Mr Albert Norris, were destroyed. The jury returned a verdict that the fire was caused by a person unknown the property was uninsured. - (Ref- The Sydney Morning Herald (NSW : 1842 - 1954)(about) Previous issue Monday 24 March 1902).

1904 - DROPPED DEAD.TUMUT. Monday. - The Coroner, Mr. Shelley, returned on Saturday from Adjunbilly, where he held an Inquest on the remains of Mr. Michael Cassidy, who dropped dead at his home on Thursday evening whilst at tea. 1905 - LAND SETTLEMENT.GUNDAGAL-The Lands Dopartment, in response to the appeal for land settlement, has decided to throw open a number of reserves in this district, making a start on one of 1000 acres in the parishes of Adjunbilly and Wyangle. - (Ref- The Sydney Morning Herald (NSW : 1842 - 1954)(about) Previous issue Wednesday 13 December 1905).

1906 - Mr. Thomas Luff, of Gobarralong, has purchased, through Messrs. Cooke and Company, Mr. R. Whittaker's property at , Adjunbilly, containing 2500 acres. 1917 - INTERSTATE NEWS. [By Telegraph. NEW SOUTH WALES. SYDNEY. Februarv 12. At the Gundagai Police Court today William Edwards, who was returned at the head of the poll in the Adjunbilly shire election, was fined £20, with the alternative of four months' imprisonment on tbe charge of receiving and taking ballot-papers and envelopes con taining ballot-papers from certain electors. 1919 - The Cormorant Pest. The complaint of the wholesale destruction of fish life in the rivers and other streams of this and the neighboring districts has received its confirmation in a report just to hand that the Ballanalad Creek, Adjunbilly Creek, and the Upper Queanbeyan River have been totally depleted of their finny denizens by the in vasion of countless cormorants, the shooting of which seems not to diminish their numbers to any appreciable extent. - (Ref- Queanbeyan Age and Queanbeyan Observer (NSW : 1915 - 1927)(about) Previous issue Tuesday 4 March 1919).

1931 - SELECTOR FOUND DEAD. TUMUT (N.S.W.), Sunday. -- Stanley Marsh, aged 37 years, a returned soldier selector who had lived at Adjunbilly for many years, was found dead to-day. It is reported that notes were found stating that his wife had left him that day, and that he intended to take his life. There are five children, the youngest being aged one year. The coroner found that Marsh died of a gunshot wound self-inflicted.- (Ref- The Argus (Melbourne, Vic. : 1848 - 1956)(about) Previous issue Monday 28 September 1931).

1937 - MAN COMMITTED FOR TRIAL.TUMUT, Monday. - Before Mr. F. Gudgeon, P.M., at Tumut Police Court, Joseph Thomas Jones, of Adjunbllly, a young man, was charged with maliciously shooting at James Henry Ellison and Joseph Marriage with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
