MARRIAGE

In 1866 Peter Briggs BEATTIE married Miss Mary Henrietta McALISTER - (NORTON) in Tumut, NSW. - (Ref- 3197/1866).

HER DEATH

DEMISE.- An old resident of the district passed away last week, in the person of Mrs. Peter Beattie, of Blowering, who died on Sunday last, at the age of 55 years. She was a native of the district, and a daughter of the late Mrs. Thomas M'Alister, the first white woman who come to Tumut.

Mary Henrietta was actually born Mary Henrietta McAlister in 1835 in Tumut, NSW and died in 1889 in Tumut, NSW at the age of about 55 years. Mary was the daughter of Thomas McAlister and Caroline Middleton who were related to the Warby's who had established a property at Darbalara.

Mary Henrietta's first marriage was to Mr James NORTON in the year 1855. James was born in 1826 and died in 1865 at the age of about 39 years.

1891 - HER SECOND MARRIAGE

1891 - After her first husband James NORTON died in 1865 she then married Mr Peter Briggs BEATTIE in 1866 in Tumut, NSW. Peter was born circa 1843 in Scotland and died in 1891 in Tumut, NSW at age 48. Parents not stated UNKNOWN & UNKNOWN died in Tumut, NSW-(Ref- NSW BDM 14560/1891)

Then in 1902 David A P BEATTIE married Miss Harriette M MCKEY Miss Harriette M MCKEY in Tumut, NSW - (Ref- NSW BDM 7747/19020) Then in 1940 David died in Tumut, NSW - (Ref- NSW BDM 18778/1940) - Records also show that 1956 Harriette Maria BEATTIE (nee McKey) daughter of JOHN JOSEPH & CATHERINE in TUMUT - (Ref- NSW BDM 13955/1956).
