1848 - Bland CLAYTON, was born in Tumut, NSW He was the 7th child of Dr Benjamin (3rd) Clayton & Frances Matilda BROUGHTON, - (Ref - V18481821 34A/1848).

Newspaper - LATE PERSONAL - News has reached Tuniut of the death of one of Tumut's erstwhile best-known auctioneers, Mr. Bland Clayton, youngest son of the late Dr. Benjamin 'Clayton, of Gunning, which took place at Ms residence, 'Wee- rona,' .Minto, at the age of 87 years. - (Ref- Albury Banner and Wodonga Express (NSW : 1896 - 1939)(about) Previous issue Friday 6 March 1936 Page 8).

In 1874 he married Francis Eliza BROUGHTON in TUMUT. (Ref:-Marriages NSW BDM 3991). This marriage further united two of the original settler families in the Tumut district.

Many years later his son Bland Clayton's name appeared as a part owner of Edward George Brown's Stock & Station Agency in Tumut. He had the job of preparing a valuation of the Goods & Chattels of the Blowering Station during PROBATE after Joseph Lambert's death in 1902, well after the original owners Benjamin and Francis Clayton's ownership.
