Whilst as a young boy his family did take him with them to weddings sometimes.

Always under supervision by his sister, he was allowed to go on holidays - they must have thought that he would be a sailor.

John Stephenson

John was the second and youngest child of Syd & Jean Stephenson, he was born in 1944 in a private hospital in Belmore, Sydney. Till the age of six (6) he lived with his parents and older sister Lynette in Moorefields Road, Kingsgrove, Sydney.

One day John came home from Crane's with a pup, which he called "Pirate". This dog was to be trained for work, but preferred the shade and theatre more than rounding up stock in the heat. But, he was trained not to leave the house without his hat at all times.
