- OBITUARY - MR. H. J. NAUGHTON
Following an attack- of malaria fever, Harold Joseph (Jack) Naughton 39 years, a former resident of Queanbeyan- died in the Wollongong- Hospital early last month. Mr. Naughton first contracted malaria while on active service with the Second L. C. Engineers at Gallipoli and since his discharge had suffered a relapse on six different occasions
For many years, he conducted a mercery business in Queanbeyan and later at Wollongong.
The late Mr Naughton was the youngest son of the late Mr and Mrs James Naughton of 'Gilmore' Tumut and married Elisabeth daughter of Mrs and the late William Kaye of Queanbeyan
Deceased leaves a widow and two children, William 9 years and Fred 5 years. He also leaves two brothers Hugh (Sydney) and Aubrey (Gundagai) - and two sisters Miss L Naughton (Sydney) and Mrs M Hayes (Ireland) - (Ref- The Canberra Times (ACT : 1926 - 1954)(about) Previous issue Tuesday 19 July 1932).
