William (1st) SMILES was born on the 25th July, 1813, in Longbenton, Northumberland, England. His parents were James (2nd) SMILES & Mary ERRINGTON. He died on the 12 Feb 1872 in Tumut, NSW - and is buried in the old Tumut Cemetery, Tumut. NSW.

William (1st) SMILES married Miss Ann Maria DAVIS in (CF) St Luke's, Church of England. Liverpool, NSW - (Ref- NSW BDM V1845531 30B/1845).

12.17754/1870 Samuel SMILES born to parents WILLIAM & ANN MARIA in TUMUT - Then in 1930 Samuel SMILES died in NEWTOWN, Sydney - (Ref- NSW BDM 15293/1930). In 1898 he marrried Miss Annie LONG, (Ref- NSW BDM 4256/1898). She was born in Tumut in 1871 - (Ref NSW BDM 18347/1871).
